Bulgaria Sees Second-Highest Annual House Price Increase in EU for Late 2023

 April 4 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria experienced the EU's second-largest annual house price increase in the last quarter of 2023, rising by 10.1%, with Croatia following closely at 9.5%, according to Eurostat's report on Thursday. 

When comparing quarterly data, Croatia saw the second-highest house price increase within the EU and the highest among Southeast European EU countries during the reviewed period, with a 3.4% rise, as stated by the bloc's statistical office.
 
Conversely, Bulgaria recorded the lowest quarterly growth in housing prices among EU members in Southeast Europe for which data is available, showing a modest increase of 1.2%. Romania's housing prices had the smallest annual increase in the region at 3.7%, which is significantly higher than the EU average annual growth of 0.2%.
 
Overall, the EU experienced an average quarterly decline of 0.3% in house prices during the October-December period.
