Significant growth in Varna’s job market seen in February

After nearly two years of relative stagnation due to the Covid pandemic, there has been very positive news for the job market in Bulgaria’s largest coastal town. A fifty five percent rise in job offers was seen in February 2022 compared to the same period in the previous year.
 
Despite rising costs due to inflation and economic uncertainty from the past two years, the local economy has recovered well with job offers being a key market for overall health of the local economy.
 
“This is stable growth on an annual basis,” stated Hristian Petkov, operations manager for Bulgaria JobTiger, one of the largest job websites in the country. “The trend is partly due to the fact that most employers now have well established structures for working from home and working remotely if the head office is in Sofia, for example. They continue to actively seek specialists and labor force” he continued.
 
Around 65 percent of job adverts are within the IT sector, fifteen percent are within the telecommunications sector and 15% are for administrative positions. The hospitality sector has also seen positive growth (around 5 percent) and experts expect this to grow further as summer approaches and the sector gains in confidence.
