2018-03-13
Recent data released by the National Statistics Indstiture (NSI) showed that the construction industry in Bulgaria has seen significant growth in January 2018 when compared to the same period in 2017.
Seasonally adjusted data showed an increase of 5.1 percent compared to the previous month and a 24.2 percent growth year on year.
Bulgaria's construction industry has seen significant improvements over the past eighteen months, indicating that the sector is now almost fully recovered from the recession.
Job growth within the sector accounts for one of the highest employment rates within Bulgaria. Many larger towns and cities are seeing increased demand from buyers for new accommodation and this is where construction is being focused.
Cities such as Varna have seen prices rebound fully to pre-recession levels and increased demand for good quality accommodation.
