Good economic growth in March for Bulgaria
2016-03-29
Growth across a broad range of Bulgarian industries has exceeded expectations this March according to new figures.
Industry, retail and construction have all increased more than previous month’s despite continued unsteady economic times.
The figures released by the National Statistical Institute have shown that the construction industry in March has increased by 2.4 percentage points. The report noted that confidence in the Bulgarian construction industry had increased in 2016 despite domestic demand remaining cautious.
Within the retail trade section, the business climate indicator increased by 1.0 percentage points primarily due to retailer’s positive outlook for sales over the next 6 months.
Bulgarian business leaders hope that the increased confidence within the country’s economy will continue over the next six to twelve months and translate into a more sustained growth after some years of low demand and uncertain economic times.
